My teammates were some customers from a hospital down in Eugene. My golfing skills aren't so good, and we finished well "out of the money", though one of the customers I played with won a nice gift in the random prize drawing after it was all over. Very good time. I still have the wooden bag tag with my name burned on it that the course provided.
Another team had a customer who drank just a wee bit too much, and thought it would be a good idea to see he could do a donut in his golf cart - on one of the greens! He lost control, and the cart ended up in a pond, but not before doing quite a bit of damage to the green. There was a bit of controversy over who would pay for the damages, but if memory serves our company was off the hook because it was course personnel serving drinks every three holes. Free drinks included in the package, IIRC.
Needless to say we had to reserve tee times at a different course for the outing the following year. I can't recall where we played, but it was a huge step down in class, so to speak.

I've only experienced the drinking on the course event once. I don't get it. Golf is incredibly hard when you're not drinking. It's impossible when you are. We didn't have electric carts and I now I see the idiocy of allowing them at this type of event.

I used to play with some guys who were there for the drinking and they could give a shit about the golf.
I gave it up after a few years

Drinking or golf? I did some indulging on the course but only when I was having a bad day. Some days I didn't have a drop, other days I was hitting up the mobile refreshment vendors by the 3rd hole. My goal was to break 80, once that was obviously gone, I would no longer give a crap.

Varner, cameron smith and others committed to LIV this week during the fed ex cup final weekend.
It's weakening pga fields , but the LIV format does not interest me in the least. All a matter of opinion but to me it's a joke. I expect sudden death playoffs to be decided by a trip to the local putt putt, or who can be shot out of a cannon the farthest while music by Madonna is blaring

Something I was wondering this weekend: are the LIV guys still eligible for Ryder and President's Cup teams? I don't think they are PGA events, so why wouldn't they, if they earned enough points the last two years before being kicked out?
If they're not eligible, it would certainly weaken those events, too. Cam Smith is an automatic qualifier according to current standings, I think.
