Is today the day for Nick Zito ?

He is 0-61 this year, but has a contender in the 1st at Aqu today: Alessia, 5-2 ML odds in a six horse field.
Filly ran pretty well in her debut at Kee in April and again at Sar last month.

Would be nice to see a two-time Kentucky Derby winning trainer back in the winners circle.
I'll be rooting for him

I feel bad for all the horses, jockeys, trainers and owners who get no wins in a year even though they are sending out horses.

This reminds me of Ricardo Santana Jr where he was 0-fer at Saratoga last summer until he finally got it rolling to win a few races. I believe this year he went 9 for 100 or 105 not fully sure but I’m relying on pure memory here.

I once saw a race at one of the minor tracks and one of the conditions was something like, "for trainers that have raced horses during the meet but haven't won a race.

I believe it was Finger Lakes.

How about "for gamblers who haven't picked a winner at the meet". That might open up some extra overlays for those having a rough time.

Yes, FL.
We had one limited to grey horses, one for jockeys who had not won in a month....some really wild conditions back in the day. I rember one was for horses who not won a race at 3 miles or longer in the last 6 months! We had run a 3 mile race a couple weeks earlier.
