You must have been listening to either Rush or Levin.

Robert, can you explain how or why, with a straight face, ABC News can be "neutral" about causes like freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom to associate around the TV and watch their tripe, freedom to watch their tripe without worrying about warrantless searches and seizures of our viewing habits, and on and on and on....What cause does a flag pin advocate for that anyone with a channel selector in his hand would be offended by? It's beyond bizarre to me to think that an idea like this was kicked around and discussed by several people, for sure, and that it still became policy.

So we have these freedoms because someone is wearing or not wearing a flag pin? Wrong. We have them because they are guaranteed by our Constitution.
Despite what most conservatives seem to think, other countries also have these freedoms. The people of England have freedom of speech, freedom of the press and others. I have not been to England, but I am fairly certain that not a lot of the English are wearing an American flag lapel pin.
You are confusing the symbol with the substance.
Some people are really concerned about whether someone else is wearing a pin or not. I figure that's because they aren't smart enough to judge a person's position based on its merits.
I shall continue to watch ABC. Unless their shows are crappy.

If you offended by ABC's action, so be it. I am offended by anyone who thinks I am stupid enough to believe he or she is a patroit because they spent a buck and a half at a convenience store on a flag pin. If all a traitor has do do is put a flag pin for people to believe that he is a patroit, we are in a lot of trouble.
As for things like warrantless searches, some the biggest critics of them are conservatives. You will have no problem finding people opposed to them on Fox News. I personally have no problem with them as long as they are used a against terrorists, all terrorists including both Islamic and McVeigh wantabees.

Yes, the geniuses in charge are themselves concerned. Sorry they couldn't be tattoos of rainbows --- just pins depicting the American flag.
Oh, the horror ...

ABC DESERVES TO GO DOWN.

Barbara Walters said that this was going to hurt ABC bad. As You know she works for ABC .
ABC NEWS BANS FLAG LAPEL PINS!
YESTERDAY THE BRASS AT ABC NEWS ISSUED ORDERS FORBIDDING REPORTERS TO WEAR LAPEL PIN AMERICAN FLAGS OR OTHER PATRIOTIC INSIGNIA. THEIR REASONING WAS THAT ABC SHOULD REMAIN NEUTRAL ABOUT 'CAUSES'.
SINCE WHEN IS PATRIOTISM TO BE DISCOURAGED?
I URGE YOU TO BOYCOTT ABC AND ITS SPONSORS AND AFFILIATES.
WE ARE SLOWLY LOSING EVERYTHING OUR COUNTRY STANDS FOR AND
EVERYTHING OUR MEN AND WOMEN FOUGHT AND DIED TO PRESERVE!
PLEASE FORWARD THIS TO AS MANY AS YOU CAN.
ABC=American Broadcasting Company? NO! Now it should be named the

I don't know who is the bigger idiot here. You for posting this or me for not checking it out.
http://urbanlegends.about.com/od/gov..._flag_pins.htm
AbC Did issue a order for its reporters to not wear American flag lapel pins. It did it not this year but in 2001 after 9/11. The order was given not to maintain neutrality, but to keep the reporters from becoming targets. There is no evidence that this order is still in effect.
Ok. I've decided now. You are the bigger idiot. You come in here posting something you got from an e-mail that is at least three years old. You posted it without checking it out because you wanted it to be true. Or because you did not care whether it was true or not. And all you other dumb Republicans come in jumping around like monkeys on crack screaming "It's Obama's fault; It's Obama's fault.

You didn't need to check anything out for yourself. You only needed to read reply #8 of this very thread. Dan beat you to the punch by a country mile. You're a day late and a dollar short...
Maybe you qualify as being an idiot as well? Nah...I wouldn't dream of being nearly as presumptuous as you are.

Mark Levin is an idiot?
Really?
From one of your favorite sources...wikipedia:
Quote:
Mark R. Levin grew up in Cheltenham Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Levin graduated from Cheltenham High School and holds a bachelor of arts from Temple University, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude. Levin also earned a juris doctorate from Temple University Beasley School of Law.
|
Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude.
That's some idiot.
Maybe you should just stick to disagreeing with their political philosophies and leave the handing out of the "idiot stickers" to someone more qualified than yourself.

Levin, vacillates between pathological mania and legal pedagogue except when earnestly hawking gold and precious metals in his traveling wagon of Fox Magic Elixirs.

So he did. I missed that one completely. I gladly don the mantle of idiot for this one. First for not checking it out myself and also for missing Dan's post entirely. Sorry, Fantastic.
