Saw a vote for Glenn Frye of the Eagles - mine would go to Joe Walsh. Guy has been to hell and back.

Tommy Emmanuel
Another of my favorites.
there seems to be a lot of overlap and a lot of good taste in music here.

I posted this on the greatest songs thread, but it deserves to be here also and explains why he's on my list. You have to watch this technique. It's insane. I saw him live once. It's a shame I was so drunk and can hardly remember it.

I'm going to list the best five I've seen in concert, because at 57 I unfortunately was a little too young to see a few of the greatest (Allman, Hendrix, etc.)
Jimmy Page
Stevie Ray Vaughan
Eric Clapton
Steve Howe
John Lee Hooker
This is really tough to do, because I've seen plenty of others worth being in any top five list - Alex Lifeson, Jeff Beck, Gary Moore, BB King, Robin Trower, Buddy Guy and many more.
Probably the most unique show I ever saw was Andre Segovia a few years before he died. He had more command of the audience than anyone I've ever seen.
Check this video out of Roy Buchanan, especially at the six-minute mark where he is playing with one hand and gives the camera a quick smile and nod, as if to say mischievously "I'm making this look a lot easier than it is."
