I stated I would be satisfied that justice was done no matter how the "K thing turned out. If he did it, obviously he's outta there.
In this absolutely OVERHEATED political climate, where congressmen are getting shot on softball fields, does anyone really think a made up story about some high school sexual assault is beyond the realm of reality?
The whole story was old enough and vague enough so that it could likely NEVER be proven, or even halfway proven, or disproven. Thus it was the perfect story to inject enough doubt into the proceedings in hopes it would be enough to get him off the nomination trail.
This was to protect Ford from perjury, and to try and get K out of there.
It was actually a pretty good scheme. Everyone came out a winner in the end though. K gets confirmed, and Ford makes out like a bandit via gofundme (wonder who some of the bigger donors were?)
