What happens if Chrome dominates in the BC...
will the Pegasus be a flop? Gulfstream has to be rooting for a huge upset in the Classic. The real question here is would you put up $1 million knowing CC is the one to beat? This could get interesting, Saturday will set the stage for the Pegasus contenders.................

All 12 slots are already sold.
I think they would love Chrome to win the BC Classic. THEY would then get host him for his very first race at Gulfstream, and very likely his last race ever on American soil.

The spots are not 100% paid for yet, they were also purchased as an "investment" by some where someone can cut a deal and get another owner to enter a horse and work out a deal on the profit if there is any. There is a lot that is going on here and one thing is for sure they aren't looking for a dog and pony show where CC is paraded around for a week, they want a competitive race!

Exactly.
It's like me people don't realize both he and Songbird are now racing against two horses who's figs are in line with theres. Like basic handicapping doesn't apply.
I'm certainly not saying he can't win. I'm saying the talk about Crome or Songbird winning by 8-10 lengths like they have in past starts doesn't account for each facing two horses (Frosted/Arrogate and Beholder/Stellar Wind) which are far better than anything they've met this year.
The whole concept of the Breeders Cup is to bring together great horses who haven't raced together this year or wouldn't without the breeders cup.
It's working!

Frosted has a chance if the Track is slow, But usually it's not.
Cal Horses are too fast out there. They come East and rule.
.Arrogate has been too fast, is it possible he can uncork another, can he handle Chrome being right next to him? I say no

The slots are filled. The money will be paid in whatever fashion it happens to be. I doubt the names involved want to have their names/companies drug through the mud by reneging on their agreement.

Just to educate you a bit on the race....
The entrant can then “race, lease, contract, or share a starter, or sell their place in the starting gate. All entrants will not only be competing for the world’s purse, but they will also share equally in 100 percent of the net income from [betting] handle, media rights and sponsorships” from the race.

Chrome will get a severe test from Arrogate no matter who ends up with the lead. I think Arrogate has enough gas to beat him and I am betting him. Line odds of 5-2 would be very acceptable.

I agree...although anything over 7-5 would be acceptable to me on Arrogate
