Thanks Clocker. That was a perfect example of Al Stanley's THREE FACTOR SPOT PLAY ANGLE. The rules of this angle fitted this horse like a glove.
A special thanks goes to you for providing me with all those Al Stanley's Newsletters over the years.
Just had a 12 minute chat with the great man Al Stanley himself over the phone. He informed me he was 84 years old and his wife passed away 11 years ago so he lives alone.
He also informed me he was still involved with handicapping harness races but strictly a pencil and paper guy and has nothing to do with computers. He said he does not even have an email address.
I also gave him credit for this angle play which brought out a nice chuckle outta him.
Just talking to him on the phone brought back a flood of old memories from years gone by.
Al Stanley one of the nicest and politest people you will find on earth.
Mr Stanley is the author of many books on harness racing but his first one "Stanley's Law" is still a classic. His news letters too are all classic with gems of knowledge and info about harness racing and handicapping. Even though they have ceased publication about 40 years ago, they are still much sought after by the public.
Mr Stanley may you live to be a 100 years and beyond.
