Elon tells advertisers to go **** themselves
I have great respect for Elon. Instead of worrying about profits, he has stuck to his principles regarding Twitter and not bowed down to pressure.

Musk believes Twitter has become critical in terms of public discourse and information flow. So it's critical that it be a free speech platform.
When he bought it it was controlled by totalitarian leaning people in government and at the company.
The US government and intelligence community were influencing what was being censored and asking for certain people to be banned because of their politics, views on Covid, views on the Covid vaccine, views on Ukraine etc.... The internal controls were being run by people with far left political views
There was shadow banning and outright banning of legitimate conservative and medical voices that in many cases were being more accurate in their reporting than the mainstream media and government.
Twitter had basically become an extension of the deep state trying to control everything and everyone. Now that Musk has it, he has created a more balanced environment where "if it's legal to say and not straight up hate speech" it's OK.
Of course his enemies in the deep state and on the left both politically and in corporate America don't want freedom of speech. IMO they are totalitarian and fascist leaning scum. So they are attacking him legally, in the media, and by withholding advertising dollars trying to get him to submit to their evil. They are the enemy of people like us, not Musk.
(And of course he also want to make money, but there are easier ways to make money than taking on governments, media, the intelligence community, and other powerful corporations)

Funny how Twitter was controlled by the government to suppress the truyj, but China Tik Tok literally is killing with phony medical advice, suxh as swallowing Boraxo.
If you use Tok Tok, you are supporting murder and anti-American effortsd.
There is no upside to Tik Tok.
But Biden has been told HANDS OFF by his bosses.
It was part of his performance review in San Fran earlier this month,
He's ggtting a raise, too.

He says he has tended to lean left of center, but the left has moved so far to the left, he now sees himself to the right of democrats and closer to the republicans on many issues.
One the free speech issue, he's obviously to the right of the totalitarians on the left that have so much power now.

If that was all Elon cared about, then he wouldn't tell advertisers to fuck off. He'd want their money.
I believe Elon is a great businessman who also happens to be concerned about the future of this country.
