General Electric

this company looks pretty ripe for a bounce right here around $8. but eventually it looks pretty sad. either going to zero or Warren Buffet will take parts of the company over. Warren lent them money
10 years ago. his terms were that of a lender that thinks the borrower has no chance in hell to pay the money back. he squeezed them and now its time to pay the piper.

as for right now, it looks like there are no more shares to short.

Buffet lent Goldman Sachs money too back then, not that there stock looks that great currently, but they are not in as bad a shape as GE is. Goldman looks likes a pretty good shorting opportunity now.

Some people feel the company has been using fraudulent accounting methods. Their buying and selling of other companies in other fields adds to that thought. The short sellers want to see them bankrupt and close up shop.

GE has become the world leader in sales and production of large by-pass commercial jet engines. Their engineers always seem to be at the forefront with new technology. This is expensive and time consuming, but considering the number of jets (particularly wide-bodied) powered by these engines selling at 20+ million a pop, the investment has kept GE the giant it is.
