C'mon, man. If ever a Derby required a little extra chemistry, it's this one. I predict more facepalms than usual after the race.

the knock on Taiba is that NO horse with less than 3 starts has ever won the Derby-that's going back over a hundred years and thousands of horses-idk if I would bet this is the first time-in tris yes but not on win end

But in the modern era of million-dollar prep races carefully spaced (especially when earnings ruled the entry box), the current points system based on arbitrarily-assessed values, and shipping on a global scale...say, in the last 20-30 years...how many have tried?
Spalding No probably knows, he knows everything...

ZOZOS is going to be about 40-1 today.. he ran a very credible 2nd to EPICENTER who is going to be about 4-1. ZOZOS has a good outside box. the knock is that EPICENTER was all wrapped up halfway down the land and had a lot more to give if needed.

Looks like he's 5-1 on live odds. Might float up to 6 or 7 to 1 if Mac plunks his $3M on Epicenter who is the current chalk by about $50k. I threw a win bet on Taiba but still deciding who to allocate the remaining bankroll. I usually have fair confidence betting the Derby, but not this year.

I dont know who set the ML on Taiba but generally unbeaten SA Derby winners sporting the best figures in the race don't go off at 12/1, not that it might be his realistic odds of winning just that the general public is going to support a horse like that, he felt more like 6/1 to me.

Don't you usually put your picks on the home page for big races?
