Queen: Good, Bad, Great, or Indifferent?
An iconic band for any a number of reasons, but they sure have pumped out a lot of lasting songs.
Their performance at Live Aid could be argued as the greatest live performance in rock n' roll history.

My favorite band since my cousin brought over Queen I with him from England when I was a young lad. Saw them multiple times at the old Chicago Stadium. Always a great, great show. When they regrouped a few years back with Paul Rogers from Bad Company, I took my two teenage girls on a road trip to follow them. San Diego, Anaheim, San Jose and Las Vegas. Not Freddie Queen but it was a ton of fun. My kids still talk about it today. Also saw them with Paul at the Hollywood Bowl. Slash took the stage at one point and riffed with Brian May. That was so much fun.

I would have to vote Great. How can I not with Freddie Mercury on vocals and that sweet-sounding Brian May guitar. I prefer the early Queen stuff having bought their first album before people heard "Killer Queen" on the radio. Sheer Heart Attack is my favorite album by them, and one of my favorites of all time.

Legendary band for many reasons.
They were truly a multi-genre band that created classic music for over 20 years.
They are probably my favorite band, right there with Peter Gabriel's Genesis.
They had very strong elements of Prog rock (Black Queen, Prophets Song, Bohemian Rhapsody, The Millionars Waltz)
They were the beginnings of some speed metal with Stone Cold Killer, Ogre Battle. Had a very hard edge all through their catalog but especially early on.
They had arena rock tunes that were hits.
They had folk type hits with Fat Bottomed Girls and Crazy Little Thing Called Love.
They were able to stay up with the changing music scene in the 80's yet still were able to maintain their hard rock attitude with stuff like Hammer to Fall.
Under Pressure, one of the great rock duets of all time, one of the great baselines.
Talent at every position in the band and I would argue May and Mercury would be in most top 25's at their position in a band (lead guitar, lead vocalist).

Take a break for about 25 minutes, and watch this 1985 live performance; then show me someone who can compete...in any year.
