They can not afford to gamble with supermarket prices, they did a price bump to the leading frozen pie for retail and companys choked and went with lower chicken pricing. Before covid-19 turkey pie sales were soft @ $5.99. And during this time pre Thanksgiving frozen Market Basket turkeys were .69 cents per pound and Butterball .99 cents per pound. I will have to come back with sale pricing soon.

Shoppers are excited to catch a deal on Thanksgiving favorites at Aldi as the chain slashes prices by up to 30 percent on everything from brie to prosciutto to cornbread stuffing.

The price cut is due to the chain’s “Thanksgiving Price Rewind”, which readjusted prices to their 2019 numbers.

“Providing amazing products at the absolute lowest prices is what we’ve always done, and we know right now that’s more important than ever,” President of ALDI U.S. Dave Rinaldo said.

It’s a stunning way to put into context just how much more we’re paying for everyday items after only 3 years.

I ordered 15 smoked turkeys as holiday gifts for friends and family.

12 lb average.

Delivered price was about $100 per bird.

Shipping cost was 20%.

i remember when turkey was 19 per pound 40 years ago! last year turkey was .79 per pound, this year wallmart now a buck a pound. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Honeysuck...B&gclsrc=aw.ds

that is a 25% increase year to year, in line with most other foods. i am paying $1.50 per pound for fresh fish, up from a buck a year ago. that same fish in supermarkets sell for $12-$15 per pound. same thing with prime beef.

i bought a Toyota Camry in 2020 that had a $25,000 sticker price, i paid $17,500. today i have to pay $24,000 for the same car. cars always bump up in price every year 10 to 15%.

infaltion is not so bad if your assets increase a long with the prices. but that is not the case now. it looks like home prices are on downward slope now along with other assets -i-

Where you fail is your incesent skew for your side, under them electricity has doubled, gas and home heating is at the point the average middle class guy with a family has to make hard choices. No one cares about your flower stories that inflation is not so bad. Even here in New Hampshire you were cutting the guy with the (R) to make your Slag Hassen look better. Good luck in the midterms, we are hoping your ideology is sent into the stoneage in the next election. How about another impeachment but this time with a convection. Enough that Nancy's many facelifts fall.

I own a restaurant. Most of my groceries come home from my cooler/freezer at work. But I still buy a bunch outside my distributors, but not as much as most people.

I’m buying turkeys wherever I find a good price. I’ll go thru about 150 from now until Thanksgiving. On Thanksgiving day we will go through about 30-40 and do about 1500 customers that day.

The real shortage this year appears to be pre made stuffing…..
