You do know that Pittsburgh star QB isn't playing, right?

Solid day yesterday, 4-0 ATS and 3-1 O/U for a total of 11-8 ATS and 11-8 O/U.

GATOR BOWL
Wake Forest -16.5 and the over 62

SUN BOWL
Washington St. -7 and the under 57.5

COTTON BOWL
Alabama -13.5 and the under 57.5

ORANGE BOWL
Michigan +7.5 and the under 45.5

Rutgers sucks and they hadn't practiced for a month almost. If Wake Forest is focused it should be a 30 point blow out at the minimum. Alabama generally blows out their opponent in the playoffs when they win. The Sun Bowl was a hard one to pick, basically a guess, so I just went against the MAC.

ALABAMA VS GEORGIA

The two best teams from the start are playing for the title. I am predicting that Alabama will be a 3 point favorite and the o/u will be 55. Lets see how close I come to what the experts say.

Georgia opens a 2 point favorite at 51.5 o/u. Georgia was more visually impressive than Alabama was yesterday. A huge misconception is that Michigan is a better team than Cincinnati and that will be the bettors downfall. Michigan was exposed! Michigan was sky high at home against Ohio St who came out not ready to play and it was a route. Then Michigan faced an offensively challenged Iowa team in the Big 10 championship. Cincinnati is the third best team in the country. For the millions out there, and you know who you are that said Michigan should have been the #1 seed please keep your opinions to yourself for your own good. Alabama and Georgia were the two best teams by far all year.

Alabama has beaten Georgia seven times in a row! Two of those it looked like Georgia was a sure winner and they blew it. Alabama has the third best rushing defense in the country and if they can stop Georgia from running the ball (again) it will all be put on Bennett and he had a horrible game last time.

Alabama couldn't run the ball at all in the SEC championship game. Robinson was playing at way less than 100% and it showed, gaining just 56 yards on 16 carries. He was dominant yesterday running for 204 against a very good Cincinnati defense. The key to the game will be Alabama's offensive line, which is considered its weakest link. In the SEC championship the offensive line played their best game all year. If they do well again and give Young time to throw that is the difference in the ball game. The QB's were the deciding factor last time and I wouldn't put my money on Bennett outperforming Young this time around either. It is said to never bet against streaks, yes Georgia will one day beat Alabama but it isn't smart to keep proving yourself wrong by picking them until they finally do.

TAKE ALABAMA +2 and the under 51.5

I wanted Michigan to be #1 just so UC might have a chance to beat them, and so that the Final would be anything other than a rematch. I was totally bored by the first game and didn't make it to halftime of the late one. Absolutely have no interest in the Final this year.

So, since nearly every year the first round games have been blowouts, why is there a month of hype anymore? Forty one meaningless bowls and two snoozefests toward the end. College football needs a shake-up that an expanded playoff field will not help.

The horrible PAC 12 is 0-4!!! and the overrated ACC is 2-4.

Yesterday I went 2-2 ATS and 3-1 O/U for a grand total of 13-10 ATS and 14-9 O/U.

OUTBACK BOWL
Arkansas -3.5 and the under 48.5

CITRUS BOWL
Kentucky -3 and the over 44

FIESTA BOWL
Oklahoma St pick and the over 45.5

ROSE BOWL
Utah +4 and the under 64

SUGAR BOWL
Baylor +1.5 and the under 57.5

I agree that an expanded playoff won't help for the most part. The same two teams will be in the final that should. The only benefit besides the financial windfall is that it will help assure the two best teams make it. What would have happened if Alabama lost a thriller in the SEC championship game? Would they have been left out and Notre Dame put in instead. Possibly, and that is the only reason why I would advocate for a 12 team playoff, because Alabama clearly was one of the four best teams and they might not have made it with another loss. Notre Dame is way overrated and not that good.

I miss the 1970's method where there were only about 15 bowls and teams were left out that went 7-4. It meant the regular season meant a whole lot more and mediocre teams didn't get a bowl berth. Plus, I can't stand the affiliation conferences have with bowls. In the past there would be scouts at games and they would invite who they wanted instead of individual conferences making the decisions.

Finally, a lot of idiots are claiming Cincinnati didn't deserve a spot. Total insanity as they whipped Notre Dame on their home field. The one bright spot to an expanded playoff is MAYBE players wouldn't opt out of bowl games like Pickett did for Pittsburgh. I can't stand that they quit on their team.
