Why todays music cannot be taken seriously

I think Kings of Leon is the antithesis of my point and is more the outlier in terms of modern commercial success.

They are a blues based rock band from Nashville who play their own instruments and sing their own songs. How much they rely on computers I would have to study, on the surface their music seems genuine.

Obviously my OP was a "generality" and not meant to be taken literally. There are bands as you point out that certainly are creating "real" sound.
