I knew if he won I was in line for a very nice score. The agents cut for a $2,000,000 race is large. In this case I didn't need to bet.

As it turned out, Johnny I. has indeed hit his stride and I think he is having a wonderful Saratoga. He's sounds great over the TV. He has a friendliness and an accessibility that I think comes through in his calls. He's made the job his own and I'm happy for him.

Del Mar is the real winner here. We picked up the best announcer in America.

Well, turns out I was right and you were wrong...of course...

Tom Durkin, a white English-language announcer, was paid $440,000 before retiring in 2014, and Larry Collmus, also a white English-language announcer, was paid over $200,000 before leaving the job earlier this year, according to the lawsuit.
Anybody who thought for 1 minute Collmus was making more than Durkin, let alone ALMOST TWICE AS MUCH...well...you know what I thought of you...this only confirms it...

He did say a "high" batting average. Being right 3 out of 10 times gives you a high batting average!

Quite frankly , I see this suit as without merit.
The plaintiff is suing based on all things being equal. They aren't. According to the reports I read, the NYRA Spanish language feed had a very small audience.
Numbers matter. JMHO.

It's not that important, but I'd say NYRA traded down. Probably saved them $100k a year though.
