my favorite race position

i love betting against inside speed. they don't win that much, and they all get overbet.

good stuff

When my handicapping and/or timeformUS doesn't have the inside speed horse 'naturally' projected on the lead, it can put them in a tough position.

add kickback or slop or horses coming over in a full field ...

I’m not sure what type of races you’re applying that idea to, but I’ll take inside speed in a 2 turn distance race every day of the week. They normally have a big advantage going into the first turn by gaining good position in order to save ground.

At first I was going to put doggie position, but then I remembered that this is a horse racing site. So...reverse cowgirl?

i didn't say all speed, just inside speed, especially in sprints.

Yes sir, I like playing against early inside speed too, if for no other reason than that so many lean so heavily on them at the window. But I HATE losing to them.
Give me Rosario on a good closer sporting some odds vs a hot pace duel and I'm a happy camper.

I can probably knock off a quick study from my database if you are willing to trust my running style projections. I can look at horses I rated as "pure speed" or "front runner" from the rail, by surface/distance for 7 furlongs or less.

I can even do it if they were rated as the only pure speed or front runner.

speed is the biggest weapon in all of horse racing and everyone knows it.

when a horse is the fastest and comes from the outside and crosses over, that speed is deadly. when they come from the inside, the speed can be quite vulnerable to other horses that pin the speed to the rail and can get shuffled back.
