If I want to know what you think about a race I can read an outdated book from the 70s that was wrong on several issues and come up with the same underlays you think are overlays...
Perhaps...but wouldn't that be too time-consuming?

I want to adapt his handicapping method of claiming to pick winners after the races have been run. That seems to work for him and be a relatively efficient use of time.

By "this," do you mean hold the meet at Saratoga? Perhaps it was just good fortune, but holding the meet at Saratoga did not result in a Covid outbreak, as you know. So why lament the move? Are you connecting the current uptick to the meet that ended in early Sept?

Does NYRA normally compensate the horsemen who participate in the Saratoga meet? I think NYRA might (?) provide free horse shuttles between downstate and Saratoga, but what else? What incremental costs did the horsemen absorb this year? I assume their housing costs were lower this year, as racing fans that typically drive short-term housing rentals weren't present.

If you treated everyone on TV and on forums respectfully and cordially (especially TV), actually listened more, stopped treating NYRA like your beloved only child when someone disagrees or says something critical, you'd have more fans and might actually learn something on top of it.

I post plenty of my insights before races, the good ones, the bad ones, and the ugly ones.

I'm as honest a person as there is when it comes to my plays and results. If you ask what I played I'll tell you, no matter how wrong or stupid it seems in hindsight. But I'm not going to become a pseudo public handicapper and give away what I work so hard to find for free.

I have detailed records going back to 1996. I'd be happy to share the number of winning years vs. losing years, the net ROI, and how I'm doing this year. But you'd rather not believe me than ask me how I'm doing it and try to improve your own game the way I do when discuss the game with others.

Saratoga was a very nice meet, especially relative to the ongoing pandemic.

Speculative, pessimistic scenarios seem to be a bit of a 'downer'...

New York happens to have some great diners.
They had good pie at that diner, also pretty fair “ 3 sunny, not runny Burn the bacon” . It seems that someone should open that place and restore it to past glory.

Could be a move for you Dan. Who better than you to open a restaurant during the pandemic.
