Automation and mechanization is advancing in agriculture.

It is needed because there are agriculture jobs that many americans would rather be un-employed and do nothing than have to show up on time and do. These jobs get filled by people with questionable documentation.

I doubt there is a human alive who could sort tomatoes as quickly and as accurately as that optical sorter.
