Agree
With Pandy 100%. What i would like to see in Timeform is an Early fig and late fig next to each PP line ala Bris. And how about a pace par ala Bris?

The plan is you will be able to set the Pace Figures to incremental just like you can times.
For example, if a horse runs these times:
22.00 45.50 1:11.0
You can display it that way (cumulative), or like this:
22.0 23.50 25.50
With the pace figures, you get this format:
100 90 80
With the incremental option in place for pace figures, they would show like this if the race was at 6f, showing how fast each fraction was run individually:
100 80 60
Does that makes sense? You will be able to do this for the race and for the horse, whichever you prefer.

TFUS speed figures and lasix
What is the average change versus the previous race in TFUS speed figures for horses on first-time lasix?
Is there a difference between first-time lasix figures for maidens versus previous winners?

Good feature for getting at hot middle moves and things like that.

I can answer this....
When I worked for TFUS, I studied equipment / medication changes to make the pace projector and thus the early figures (and also the late figures) perform better.
What we found was that when you control for career race number and blinkers, the remaining sample of those horses who get lasix after having debuting w/o lasix is very small. We looked at around 250K individual horses. When controlling down to the lasix on portion of the study, we were left with around 2k individual horses and of those 2k individual horses, while the early number did improve, it was not significant enough to warrant changing.
The big take away from the study - 2nd and 3rd time starters, as whole, improved significantly over the entire, large sample in their early numbers. Blinkers on and off also significant. But lasix - there's just not enough data there to say either way with much confidence.

Question on the Race Rating.
I understand its based on the figures of the horses that were in the race that generated the number.
If there is a super dominant horse in the race, say Arrogate was running in a Mdn Clm, is the race rating going to get a 135 or is it more representative of the entire field?

It should be more representative of the entire field. Here is an example from the Lone Star Handicap today with an obviously dominant horse.

Re: Sonneteer's recent Maiden loss to Honor and Courage
CJ, What rating does TimeformUS give Honor and Courage for his maiden win...? And what explains Sonneteer's poor performance against H&C...? Sonneteer got beat by Classic Empire by only 2 lengths in the Arkansas Derby, and CE is maybe the best 3yr old running now...I see that H&C had already bested Sonneteer in their previous meeting by a few lengths....still I bet a good chunk on Sonneteer over H&C this time and was disappointed by Sonneteer's rather unusual performance under jockey Kent Desormeaux... "SONNETEER settled inside then outside a rival, moved up inside into the second turn then outside a foe, came out leaving that turn and four wide into the stretch and bested the others."
So I was kind of interested what rating H&C received here and maybe IS HE REALLY A GOOD ONE now coming into bloom...

I don't think Honor and Courage is a really good one, it was more that Sonneteer just didn't run his best. A chart of the race is attached that also shows the TimeformUS Speed Figures of the last couple races.
If you're asking me why he didn't run his best, I'd point to his schedule. He had run in four races races in 70 days, topped off by the very roughly run Kentucky Derby. In that time he went from California to Arkansas to Kentucky to California. He was coming back off that last ship on only three weeks rest.
Just my opinion, but I think he needs a freshening.

Hello TimeformUS
Would be nice for DRF or whoever is responsible to make the "condensed file" available much sooner than the day before raceday.
Can someone PLEASE push-the-button?
