No Bing neded

How do I turn off the Bing search window in IE8?
I don't want Bing, I don't use Bing, I don't support Bing.
IE8 has proven to be a huge headache and intrusive POS program so far.....just as I expected it would be.

You need to invoke an incantation. Sing "Where the Turf Meets the Surf" three times while patting the top of your head and rubbing you stomach then it will go away.

Tom, learn to love the Bing. Bing goes the Internet. When IE 9 comes out, it will actually play this song in an endless loop through your computer speakers.

After typing "regsvr32 actxprxy.dll" at the command prompt, you might want to try pressing <enter> to run the command.

I think using my restore point back to IE6 is what I need to do.
Thanks guys, I'll look at that stuff (whatever it is?)
I have noticed a marked slow down in IE8.

Use Firefox! I avoid ie whenever possible. With that being said, I fired up ie. Go to Tools>Internet Options>under "search about 2/3 way down, click on "settings", click once on "Bing" to highlight it, then click "remove". then close, then ok.
