Goat?
I have been a horse racing fan for over 60 years and have seen many good/great trainers but I believe Chad Brown is now at the top of the list.He has so many top notch horses and the list is endless. That just my opinion

brown gets the best racing stock.
the best trainer ever.
Ben A. Jones
who are browns best 3?
can they match:
1. whirlaway 60 starts 32 wins
2. armed—81 starts 41 wins
3. citiation—45 starts 32 wins
doubtful.

He really is the G.O.A.T.
or better yet, he has 'A seat at the table'. He's in the top-10 or top-50 or 100 whatever, no matter what differences in era, stock, fortune, or whatever adjustment or bias your ranking belief and information lead you to allow...
but, ( and this is excusable if you; "Sir Garbage7", or anyone else in this thread; is old as hell, or on life support ) - - Let the man finish his @#$!ing prime!!
He's 43 years old.

There's so much funny about this. You say "Brown gets the best racing stock" and then say his horses can't match what Ben Jones got. So Ben Jones got better stock I guess.
Also, comparing horse's records from dramatically different eras is nonsensical. I think we can probably all agree Chad Brown ( along with Todd Pletcher, Steve Asmussen, and a host of others ) would have done well with the three horses you mentioned.
Ben Jones might have been the greatest trainer ever. How would any of us know? He was training seventy plus years ago. Best ever conversations are silly. Great trainers, from different times, can't really compare them.
Winning with horses like Citation and Whirlaway isn't difficult. Most trainers would have done well with them. How did Ben Jones do with the medicore horses he got? We have no way of knowing. We do know what Chad Brown did with Bleeker Street. Ben Jones likely had achievements with horses like that. But we don't know. We weren't around.

My grandmother was born in 1922 and will call you a young man to your face.
76 is respectable. Say whatever you want. All of us 'young' guys will respect you either way.

Agreed. Our culture has arrived at a time when our need to compare the relative talent of people suddenly needs to include "of all time". None of us saw Babe Ruth play. It isn't possible to compare him to someone playing today. And we what purpose does that serve? Chad Brown is one of today's best trainers if not the best. It's so obvious it isn't worth debating.

well we know do that citiation would only started 10 times under brown
bleeker street is 4 and started exactly 7 times.
not exactly an iron horse like the above 3.

Everyone has their favorites, I guess, but it's hard to know which trainers are actually the best horsemen.
To me, the horses are the stars of the sport. I appreciate the efforts of the trainers who work hard but there's more involved than horsemenship to reach the level of success of Chad Brown, Pletcher, etc. For instance, you have to be very good at knowing which horses to buy. These top trainers excel at putting together an organization.
