Chart notes: Hand ride or not

I am looking at the BRIS PPs for upcoming Thursday AQU Feb 28 AQU R7 (14 clm)

the notes for Siero mention a hand ride in his last race (AQU Feb 10, R5)

But reviewing the replay:
http://www.nyra.com/aqueduct/videos/...0210/5/headon/

shows the whip/crop being used several times and quite clearly in the stretch.
How do you use this kind of chart info without checking replays. ie. how much accuracy can you get out PP notes?

The NYRA chart caller is usually very sharp. He missed one.

thanks, that's good to keep in mind. I rarely watch replays and headon almost never. So I got concerned when I saw this in the 1st replay i decide to watch as part of handicapping exercise. What luck

He actually says 'solid hand encouragement', as if to imply kept busy.

Yes, the whip was used a few times, but the comment is ambiguous.

When did chart callers decide to become sharp? I remember going back a few decades ago, there were small notes.....the word 'outrun' being one of the most used words in a chart (i'm talking about the charts and comments seen on equibase). Now, these guys are writing novels on every horse in every race...that kinda takes money out of my pocket, i wouldnt mind going back to the old days where the guy would just mail it in and not elaborate.

the ny guy is great. yeah, too good maybe, but then again, if you want the color of the race, you can get it from the chart, don't have to watch the replay.

I'd prefer my competition have to watch the replays.

The chart notes have now been updated.. for Siero.

it says Pressed 3W; kept to task.
Somebody is listening?
post race:
Siero won with some effort at this level, with the biggest threat coming from Tweet me & Patriotic Duty (imo)
