What they're supposed to do is keep all their info and not sell it. In other words, don't put a price on it...just say "not for sale".

That way, they can hold the "Games" info for hostage instead of pretending they're actually selling it.

The race to 10? Is that cover price, or number of threads on the price of the DRF?

People pay $4.00 for a track program with two tracks in it (and Equibase figs), but they'll complain about paying $9.00 for a DRF with five+ tracks in it (and Beyer figs and articles and all the other stuff in there)?

I don't get it...

The price of the DRF is rising faster than the cost of my health insurance.

You don't get why people would want to pay NINE dollars for PPs so they can have a blended 20% taken out of every dollar for the privilege of betting?

Maybe Las Vegas should start charging 9 dollars for people to enter their casinos.

Read my reply again...you've taken my words WAY out of context...but you do that a lot around here...pick apart words to create entirely new thread drift...

I don't get it either pricewise. My Friday DRF cost $7.50 ontrack and $9 offtrack (I bought it offtrack). It's got 8 tracks in it. That's $1.12 a track. No way can I bitch about the price.

My complaint is the abbreviated names of horses. It's beyond pathetic. Here's an example from my Friday DRF that includes the early Pick 5 Saturday at Belmont as well as the 8 full cards on Friday:

The Brooklyn is the 3rd race Saturday. The #4 (Cat Burglar) ran 3rd in the Pimlico Special. I forgot who beat Cat Burglar that day but - no problem - DRF lists the top 3 finishers in the PP's. Here are the top finishers as they appear in my DRF:

Win Rltnr
Place PrrfrRlf

I did the only thing I could do after looking at that brain teaser - I looked up the results of the Pimlico Special online.

Anyway, in case you forgot too:

Rltnr is Revolutionary
PrrfrRlf is Prayer for Relief

I only bring this up because in another thread someone championed the on-track programs...as if that is some sort of bargain versus the DRF.

Yes, the on-track program is cheaper, but there's a reason for that. And that's why the program exists. To serve the customer who only wants one or two tracks worth of PPs.

To me, the "i dont get it" seems to indicate that you don't understand why people complain about paying 9 bucks.

Was the "i dont get it" about something else?

OK.....I don't get it.

if you go to the track and have a smart phone, tablet etc you can bet from your seat and download Bris for free.

I would assume you could use your DRF online account as well.
what am I missing?

I always have a DRF...along with some other information from other sources i find useful in my handicapping. I am quite used to the format.... but I agree with other users that the new edition abbreviations in the running lines is now sub par. Occasionally I am puzzled on what tracks they elect to include/exclude in my region. Hey---- I wish they would raise the price to twenty bucks---- so less people would have it!
