I’m curious about the shot. Either very good or very lucky.
Maybe both.

No luck, align the topstrap and forget the sights. All you need is a fool to wave it around then call where you will put it.

I seriously doubt he was aiming for the guy’s throat.

There is a something called natural point of aim.

It is the reason you see so many people shoot pretty well when they first try target shooting. It's when they start trying to be extra accurate that things go haywire.

Centering a shot is an old thing that used be taught.

Basically center the weapon on your own torso extend your arms and make sure the target is within your perceived shoulders.

draw a line from each shoulder at the top of the arm and turn your torso until the bad guy is within your shoulders and fire.

I can attest to this. I had never picked up a weapon before in my life until officer training in the Air Force. First time firing a .45 at the range, I got a sharpshooter ribbon. Just listened to the instructor, relied on the front sight, and squeezed the trigger. Liked the kickback of it, too.

More than likely what is different between someone who did the robbery and a customer who killed him are the following.

A. It is very likely the LTC holder had some formal training.
B. It is very likely the LTC holder had the best gear he could afford.
C. it is very likely the LTC holder knew exactly what was behind the robber and called his shot exactly where he put it.
D. it is very likely the robber had his attention all over the place, but more so on the guy behind the counter. Sometimes there is a gun behind the counter and they know that.

It is good we got a thread that is not about Presidential politics, and maybe this tune might add some balance. I wanted to youtube someone from Texas for JR like Lee Ann Womack but all her youtubes are poor quality, this will have to do.

The homeowner had every right to do what he did. The problem I see is that, I'm sure the three dead teens have friends who know where he lives.

Then all visitors to the senate chambers should be issued .357 Magnums to carry on the tour.
