Using Suffolk as a Covin-19 test center

All the barns are down. Back there in the far left were the beachmont barns. Supposedly Whitey Bulger had $300,000 buried back there that he couldn’t get to before he absconded. Its gone now. Everything bad happened down the end of the Beachmont barns. That’s where they stuck Burton Sipp when he was in here.

Whitey Bulger and Burton Sipp in the same thread. One is still free and allowed to train at Mountaineer.

Whitey Bulger is dead. He died in West Virginia in 2018.

If you didn’t find me leaning on a rail at Suffolk, you found me leaning on a rail here. Ebb Tide aka Bill Ashes.

Suff thanks for the pictures. I’m flying into MCO from Connecticut in about a week. My least favorite part of the trip will be flying because of the virus. Normally I fly Spirit but went with Southwest this time since they are limiting capacity and keeping the middle seats open. They are suppose to do this through July.

Suffolk Downs brings back some memories although I’ve only visited the track twice. In my very early days of catching the parimutuel bug one trip consisted of Suffolk during the day and Wonderland dogs at night. My first introduction into horse racing ever was Topsham Fair in Maine. Of course Three County Fair is only 20 minutes away from where I live so that was a yearly visit as well. My biggest memory about Suffolk was thinking it was exotically cool that the subway had its own terminal at the track. Other then that it didn’t leave the same impression on me that Saratoga did back in those days. My favorite track now is Gulfstream Park. I’ve been visiting ever since they did the major remodel about 15 years ago.

So Suff what got you into horse racing? Again thanks for all the pics!

No, that’s BILL ASH’s down on the beach, next bar down from The Shipwreck. Where Shirley Avenue meets the beach, about 1/4 mile from Suffolk Downs.

Had Steve Cauthen stopped in here and bought a round, he might of won a race.

That picture is the back, its front looks like this.

Bill Ash’s on the left here.

You look out the window of Bill Ash’s you see two well populated islands in Boston harbor. Little Nahant & Big Nahant.

Revere Beach. The oldest public beach in America. From where I’m standing, on a quiet Sunday, you could hear Larry Collmus calling the races at Suffolk Downs.

Here’s your Suffolk Downs Killer. These f’ks strangled & buried Suffolk Downs.

Instead of taking the tunnel, I went the parkway to drive by it.

I spent $50 for row 1 , seat 1. First two rows are 2 wide seats.

Masks mandatory and only two passengers at a time can stand. One to use the front bathroom & one to use the back. No congregating.

However, the flight attendants congregated there and talked endlessly to one another at close distance. They worried me more than anything. When people are nervous they can become chatter-box.
