PREVALENCE

this 3 y/o colt ran with lasix for the first time and this guy impressed me with the way he took pressure on the rail for about 3/8ths of a mile, then got to the stretch and pressed the go button and his feet were going faster and straighter than any machine

He ran for the first time, not just 1ast time Lasix. Wasn't a particularly fast race for what it is worth.

Choose your own adventure with this horse based on previous impressive debut maiden winners around this same time of year:

1) Justify

2) Curlin

3) Pulpit

4) Hidden Scroll

5) Charlatan

Curlin was really the only one to handle the pressure without his career being compromised.

Not sure I have faith in these connections to keep this horse together if they press on towards the Derby.

I don't remember how fast Pulpit ran, but the others all ran really fast. This horse did not IMO. Could be a good thing long term, but if I had to pick I'd still take fast.

Good point, I didn't factor the relative speed figures in. There was a bit of hype about Justify's half brother (the eventual runner-up) before the race, so I presumed the race was highly rated.

Pulpit ran 7f at Gulfstream in 1:21+ in his debut, earning a 107 BSF.

Keepmeinmind

The horse that will be the biggest danger to win it all in the Derby if he stays healthy is the rapidly improving 'KEEPMEINMIND', remember you heard it here first.

That horse gets a headline on the Paulick Report every time he walks out of his stall. I think there's been 3 articles about him gearing up at Oaklawn already.

He was under the radar for about 5 minutes after the BC Juvenile, but after the Kentucky Jockey Club he's become the winter book "wise guy" horse.

The Kentucky Jockey Club has been fairly anemic at producing classic winners by the way.

Beaten favorite in the Oklahoma Derby after an ugly TC season. Good luck to him.

If you're right that makes him live for the BC Dirt Mile...

No denying.......Prevalence has a bright future.
Seems like the 3yo class this year is deep.
When they start lining up against each other it should be good.
All three of the flashy 3yo maiden breakers Saturday [Prevalence/The Great One/Outasite] did it in style.
Of the trio......The Great One looked best to me.
