Lot of memories tied up there. First time he let me use it was in 1977. We searched for it for about 2 weeks, when I lost it in about 1979. He passed 369 days ago, and this weekend was a trip back in time.
Just like the calls of your races, great timing.

I’m so sorry about your father’s passing; sounds like you count the days.
Thanks for the kind words.

One would hope so but I have heard nothing on that subject.

No, do not count the days. The 1 yr date, caused a lot of it. Just timing. Happy he passed when he did, and did not go through the big C.

Last night's handle was $1.58 million, acceptable under normal circumstances but not in the current climate. That's a $1 million drop in only two days and, aside from the concurrent quitting of my social media platforms, I'd love to know why. Any thoughts?

I know, this will NEVER make sense to me.
Should be the opposite.

More tracks opened for business, more competition for $'s.

Point taken, but I believe Fair Meadows was the only track we were racing against, head-to-head, last night. Something’s not right.

I don't now if it had much to do with it Mohawk ran last night they usually handle 1-2 million and a couple other harness tracks. ASSINIBOA also ran.

I stopped to observe for a bit longer. Weak jockey colony doesn't help. Some of the perennial training leaders are doing awful. I for one am concerned the drugs identified in the big scandel may have been used by some Mountain trainers.
Yeah, I know the Mountain has not been open for training until recently, but I would bet some of these past Mountain super-trainers will not come back to the form of past seasons. Tough to find ant rhyme or reason to winners right now except Delong, Spieth and Baxter being sharp.
Taking a wait and see after playing the first few cards.

Think there was some overlap with Fairmount too.

Ironic that the casino is open with hundreds of people and Track is closed to fans, where there is usually "not enough people to start an argument" (sarcasm).

According to the West Virginia Governor’s website, outdoor equestrian events with patrons will be permitted from June 22. That’s not to say Mountaineer will open to fans then, I’m just sharing it as an FYI.
