Another one of Ralph's quotes was when he went in to negotiate his contract

with Branch Rickey of the Pirates Branch told Ralph, ' I can finish last with you

I can finish last without you." Not much of a guaranteed contract is it?

ted williams was the proof, with his 400+ batting avg.
his adage, find a good ball to hit translates into finding a good horse to bet, (decent actual probability to win and a good value) unfortunately in today's climate, i think the pa poll, recently on site, showed the majority of those polled said the problem in horsebetting in america today is, too much of an imbalance of seasoned horseplayers, not enough newbies entering the game anymore.
