Old Man is one of the best songs ever, and I really like a lot of his other songs. I don't envision though that he'd be someone I admire for anything else though.

Yeah and they spelled it Chairman of the B-O-R-E-D is one of the only truly funny moments in late night television history.
Okay had to include it for an excuse to watch again:

Yes, I remember it from back then, too.
It is what HE chose for HIS avatar.
Get over it and get a life.

Want to keep arguing it, do you? We've already established that image wasn't used in the Vietnam war - the girl wasn't even born yet. So shutty.

MO's is better, though doesn't look a lot like MO.

And looking at the Presidential gallery on the Smithsonian website, what is to be made of the sculptures of Ford and Bush? Ford looks like a death mask from an obscure African tribe and Bush 41 looks like a matchstick man running a 100 yard dash.
Nice portrait of John Tyler, though.

Most of us Canadians over 50 are conservative. But our Conservative party is only slightly right of our Liberal party, if that.

Ford was funny. I don't know how far back they go with the POTUS and FLOTUS choosing the artists, but Obama and Michelle chose these two, so I don't know that it was being polite, it should've been what they expected. Surely they picked based on past work (as well as skin color, apparently).

While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75 year old Texas rancher, whose hand was caught in a gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man. Eventually the topic got around to Obama and his bid to be president.
The old rancher said, "Well, ya know, Obama is a "post turtle". Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a "post turtle" was.
The old rancher said, "When you're driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a "post turtle".
The old rancher saw a puzzled look on the doctor's face, so he continued to explain. You know he didn't get up there by himself, he doesn't belong up there, he doesn't know what to do while he is up there, and you just wonder what kind of a dumb ass put him up there in the first place.
