All American Future Wager
I thought one of the better wagers in horse racing was betting the field in the 1st of 3 Ky Derby Future pools. I've done it a couple of times with good success. Of course ,I hedged to show a profit on Derby day.
However, the single best wager I've ever made in my life was betting 500 on the field in the All American Futurity Future wager. The final odds went off at over 4-1. I received 4-1 odds against 23 horses qualifying and then winning the AA. Nearly 200 horses entered the trials and only 19 of the original 23 were entered in the trials yesterday.
Not one of the other 19 entrants even finished as a top 10 finalist. One horse timed in 21.48 but is 11th on the list. Not sure if there is an also eligible list for the finals, but it shouldnt be a hard hedge to figure out come Labor day.
On a side note, after I placed the bet on that Thursday, I tapped out on that account and instead of refunding it, I looked into cancelling the wager, but fortunately for me I was unable to cancel it that next day. Sometimes it is better to be lucky.

So let me get this straight.....
You make "the single best wager you've ever made in your life" at over 4-1
You tapped out in that account and instead of refunding, you tried to cancel "the single best wager you've ever made in your life" but couldn't.
Oh my!
Have you ever tried getting a job in racetrack management or maybe getting a job putting together those player's pool tickets using other people's money?

Do you just wait for someone to say something silly and pounce on them.

Not at all.
I think this is quite worse than silly.
You redboard "the single best bet you've ever made in your life", but you TRIED TO (not even just thought about) cancel that bet instead of putting more money in your account?
When a person comes with a redboard and a story like that....what did you expect?
Way to go Tejas! You are a genius!

I'll admit it is a silly statement. However, I didnt say I thought it was the greatest wager I've ever made going in. It's the greatest wager because of the way it turned out. Not having to hedge in the finals makes it the greatest. But in defense, playing the field in this future at 4-1 was a good play percentage wise. 170 horses against the other 23 qualifying.
Whats wrong with 4-1 when you have a 7-1 edge?

So now you are saying qualifying for the All-American is completely random as if all horses have an equal chance? Are you serious? The odds on horses that got eliminated in the trials had the same chance as 99-1's that couldn't beat a mule?
Silly again?
Please......just stop now.

Good.
If you really think QH trials are random....next time they run, I'll pick 3 horses and you can have the remaining 7 each race at even money for whatever you would like to bet.
You are getting 1-1 on a 3-7 actual odds bet.....that has to be a great bet....right?

GOD
The wager was placed one month before the trials. Chances are some of the 23 runners wouldnt even make it to trials. Also, chances are that some would be eliminated at the break. Also, Ruidoso winds change dramatically throughout the day and some contenders would be eliminated running into a headwind. I would take 4-1 on this wager every day of the week including sunday for the rest of my life but chances are this wager will not be offered next year, or the field's odds would be to low to play.
Your humble servant,
TK

Next year,
you can pick 23 horses in Mid July before the Rainbow Futurity trials. You give me 3-1 and every other horse in the country to win the All American.

Unless it was Sunday, your betting account was on zero, and they allowed you to cancel future bets so you could wager the $500 on other bets that are better than the single best bet you ever made/cancelled in your life.
