1 dead, 2 injured -- what were they thinking?

http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/l...011-story.html

Quote:
KSBY News reported that two women and two men in their 20s were standing on the tracks on a trestle, taking pictures of the sunset just before 6 p.m., when the train came around the corner.

They tried to run, but one woman and two men were struck. The woman was thrown from the trestle and died, the station reported.

Expect California to pass laws requiring that train tracks be fenced.

Except where it would interfere with wildlife migration.

and if wildlife migration, then overpass or underpass every 100 yards

environmentalists were upset about Alaska pipeline probably killing off indigenous wildlife - which has flourished with ease of travel and winter warmth.

Last I heard they ran according to a schedule as well. That means (in case YOU didn't know) that you can actually be aware IN ADVANCE of when you can stand on the tracks and take pictures!

Woman "This is a train bridge - we should be on it."
Man "The train has already been here and gone - see the tracks?"

Four people, and none of them being the dedicated lookout for oncoming trains.
