All Stakes' P6 Pays $48 at Churchill

CD had an all-stakes' P6 on Saturday. It paid $48 for $2. A P4 covering the last four races of the P6-sequence paid $69 for $2...more than the P6 paid!!

With those kind of payoffs, being unable to bet CD via ADW's, works for me.

They did not have to pay 3 out of 4 in the pick 4. Consolation 5 of 6 paid $2.80, so the take on the pick 6 was probably something like 50% for 6 of 6.

Not really justifying the crappy payoff, but there was a reason it was lower.

4 free squares

Hysterialady
Curlin
Dreaming of Anna
Pure Clan (although first time turf, was much much faster on the sheets)

Pyro wins as the favorite but people betting Recapaturetheglory
Tizdejavu wins as 2nd choice but people betting Old Man Buck

I have to admit that the $34.50 per $1 on the P4 was a gift, the last two races (Curlin/DOA) were free squares, and you only had to go two deep in the other two legs...2x2x1x1, I'll take 8/1 all the time when it is that obvious

Wow, it's only been what, 10 days since the Belmont, and already we're back to assuming that 2/5 shots are "obvious" sources of free money...

Are you staying that Curlin (about 6pts faster then anyone in the race) and DOA (about 5pts faster than anyone) were NOT locks.

I am speaking in terms of Thorograph. Neither horse was losing, as long as nothing was wrong with them....

Yes, that's what I'm saying. There is no such thing as a lock. You can be damn sure that if Curlin had lost somehow, there'd be no shortage of post-race opinions here as to how you could easily see it coming... eg "The trips back and forth to Dubai took too much out of him"... "His only bad race all last year was his only race at CD"... "The rail at CD sucks lately"... "He's never spotted this much weight before"... etc.

Trust me, by the time people were finished, you'd have felt like an idiot for putting any money on him.
