Add #16 Fairleigh Dickinson over #1 Purdue.

I predicted all of those upsets. Right after they happened.

I went 25-7 on Round 1, 96.7%. Lots of tough games.

it's the 3rd year in a row that Purdue has been beaten by a double digit seed

last year Purdue was booted out in the sweet 16 by #15 seed Saint Peter's

this dude on reddit has a POTD (pick of the day) every day now

he says his record so far is 25-7-1 - before the Creighton game

I saw this for the first time yesterday - he picked Creighton -5 - so he's 1-0 since I've been following him

he might be the real deal - let's see

I thought Purdue was getting exposed as over hyped the last two weeks of the season.

The team that REALLY surprised me was Arizona: a good solid team just had a single bad night but that's how it goes in tournament play..just ask the coach of Hickory from HOOSIERS

the Farleigh Dickinson story continues -

they lost 15 games this season -

they lost the Northeast Conf. Tourney but got in to the Madness anyway because of an obscure rule that made Merrimack, the team that beat them ineligible

here are some of the teams they lost to in the regular season:

Hartford, Richmond, Queens, Sacred Heart, Stonehill and they got crushed by the basketball power Longwood__________________(-:\

today they're 14.5 point dogs to Florida Atlantic

people tell covers.com who they're betting on and 73% have picked those Farleigh dudes____

his potd is:

Uconn -4.5 over Saint Mary's - he says take it up to 4.5 - 6:10 est

the line has already moved 1 point - it opened at 3.5

But, did you watch them play? I don't know what kind of students they are, but you rarely find that kind of athleticism in college basketball.

I watched some of it -
you're right - they were very impressive
it just seems so strange that they could be so good and have a record such as that

or maybe they're not really that good - it was just some kinna fluke where everything came together for them

I guess we'll find out more later today

A kid from our high school was recruited to a Div 1 school but couldn't get any playing time. So after a year he transferred to a Div 2 school where they let him play. A couple of the better players on his team ended up getting kicked out of school for holding up a convenient store. At the end of the school year this kid quit and came home. He was never a serious student and had better things to do than hang with thugs.
There are many players who are benefitting from having a chance to get a degree, but too many of them aren't really serious. They're going to turn 30 at some point and won't have the kind of training to hold down a degreed job. Or have the background to out maneuver other people in earning a living. It's an example of good intentions bastardized. And when people insist these kids attend real classes that would benefit them and pass, the push back is impressive.
