That's it, Ed. The single qualifier was ITASCA in the 5th. Out of 8 races @ Mahoning today--5 were won by longshots.
The Trainer Report had four of them:
1ST CADILLAC RIDE $61.20
3RD NOD TO PERSIA $53.20
5TH ITASCA $34.60
8TH BAY MAGIC $19.00
The only horse missing from the list was CAPT RILEY in the 2ND $24.60.
There were 16 double-digit odds horses on the list--you could have bet them all. Itasca, by himself would have gotten you to the break-even point. The rest were all gravy.

If you need to get ahold of me...I check in under an assumed name--so call the Legacy in Reno, ask them to page "Lesco Brandon".

Haven't heard anything...so I can assume I'm the only early pick-5 winner @ AQ? Was there for the taking-- 2X2X2X2X2 50CENT = $16.00.
$0.50 Pick-5 (6/8/5/2,4/5,7,11,13,14,15) Paid $141.75 (5OF5)

Spot play for lazy folks (like me)
Thinking about writing a book "THE LAZY MAN'S GUIDE TO RACETRACK RICHES".
I want to win a ton of money...or at least, supplement my income-with spot-plays that require NO WORK. Is it possible? Of course it is...it's waiting for you to find it.
When you saw that the BEST-FIVE program has a button that lists all the horses that had the highest last race speed rating...I don't imagine anyone was really impressed or foresaw much use for that info. They win under 30%, at a flat-bet loss.
Now...take it a step further, and only look for double-digit ML's among that group. Yes, it happens frequently...the Highest last-race Bris or Beyer or what have you--sometimes is a longshot. Plenty of reasons for that--usually the horse is going up in class today, or just doesn't appear to belong with today's field.
Once in a while--the public flat-out misses something. Aqueduct again gave a gift to those "lazy" folks, content to press a button for possible plays.
Here was today's TOP-SPEED list:
You see the 8th and 9th races both have the Hi-Last-Speed listed at double digits on the ML.
The 8th race contender-PUBLIC INFORMATION did nothing.
In the 9th, 12-1 ML COURVOISIER didn't realize he was hopelessly outgunned--and came home paying a sweet $30.00 to win.
Not bad for doing absolutely nothing to get that win 🍦

Everything we have CLEANED UP @ Aq...once again the TRAINER ANGLES SPOT PLAY doubled your money (had you just bet them all with no handicapping).

AQ 8th
I'm semi-agonizing over an interesting horse in the 8th @ AQ today: RAGTIME BLUES 10-1.
'Ragtime is listed on the "EASY MONEY" spot plays...don't see many 10-1 shots among the easy money plays. He has the "look" of a price play.
The bad news---his connections. Claimed last out by an inexperienced, unknown trainer/owner-with an even less known jock aboard. The thing is...since the claim we see no works or any activity...how can you justify a wager? This horse was/is improving--and with a decent trainer, can pull an upset.
I'll stick a 5-spot on Ragtime, in case Trainer Lenin Cruz (yes his first name is "Lenin") can get it done.
Good luck,
-NCG

Gregg....
Looked at this unknown trainer ....cant see much
BUT
Has hit 2 of 5 with horses that has front wraps....
This claimed horse has not worn them in his PP's
Watch Post Parade , if you could , to see if front wraps are on...
theres not much speed in here , he can wire them if hes good
just a thought
Mike

Well...that was a little strange...Ortiz looks to his inside--can see he has a horse on the rail (RAGTIME BLUES)...slams into him, almost knocking the rider OVER the rail. Lucky that jockey wasn't seriously injured.
The horse is still "live"...rider getting thrown notwithstanding. Depending where he's entered next, should be a good price.
Definitely on my watch list
