Chalky day at Remington

When I looked at the Remington card early yesterday morning I noted 11 races, most with large fields. A long “honey do” list prevented me from handicapping all but one. Needless to say, in that race I got beat by the chalk and I think my horse is still running.

Last night I sat down and reviewed the results for the entire card expecting to find a few bombs, especially in the races with dozen entries. Much to my surprise and delight, the longest price for the day was a $14.20 winner. Most winning prices paid under $10.

Being a value player, I would’ve spent hours creating a line for a handful of those races and probably would’ve lost money on every one.

Instead my bankroll is (only) dented from that one loss and the lawn is mowed, the manure pile is turned, the apple trees are pruned, and the oil is changed in my tractor.

Ahh, life is good.
