It's a great thing that he's betting the money. Especially if you think Essential Quality is vulnerable on the win end.

Yeah.
And even if you are gung ho about EQ and this is going to cut your odds, just passing the race is a possibility. There's no principle that anyone is guaranteed betting value, and there are plenty of other options on Derby day.

Mac is a good man who does a lot for his community...what's not to like about him? Plus, dude is a GAMBLER!

I don't know about this guy's particular mattresses but in general, if you highly value the quality of your sleep - mattresses at that price point and above can be worth the money IMO - if you take the time to go to a store and look at them and try them out you will see that - and I know what you're saying - I too suffer sticker shock when thinking about paying that much - but mattresses now can easily last 20 years - they keep making them better and better
wow - I can't believe this is a horse racing forum, and this is horse racing thread and I wrote that much about mattresses

Personally, I'd rather read about mattresses than hear the word "Runhappy" again.

Very true, Ralph...The wife and I bought a sleep number over 3 years ago for $5300 that was on sale.

Does EQ's morning line reflect his estimated potential to win the race or an estimate of his final odds?

Worth it if you ask me, you spend like 25 to 30% of your life on the thing, minimum.

It is supposed to be an estimate of his final odds, and I would think the bet MM is saying he will make is part of the estimate. It could easily drop a horse a click even on Kentucky Derby day.
