he paid $2.20 to win and you got a rebate for the bet, with no rebate for show. i wonder what the odds would have been for him to run 2nd or 3rd and not win?+

It was a good win, but I don't think anyone out there is terrified of taking him on at 10F.

Anyone else notice/find interesting he seemed to be running down the stretch with his head turned to the right? He did it a few times. Is that typical for him?

I noticed it live. I'm not sure what to make of it.

I don't know what will happen at the "real" BC, but here's what's likely to happen if horsemen run their horses in the appropriate spots (they won't):
Sprint:
SILVER STATE swoop lates and collars stablemate JACKIE'S WARRIOR and LIFE IS GOOD at the wire.
Dirt Mile:
MAXFIELD blitzes the field entering the stretch, draws clear. BY MY STANDARDS rallies for the place spot. EXPRESS TRAIN tags the tiring KNICKS GO for the show.
Classic:
MISHRIFF powers past MAX PLAYER. ART COLLECTOR saves 3rd. ESSENTIAL QUALITY, HOT ROD CHARLIE, and MEDINA SPIRIT ding-dong battle to the wire for a distant 4th spot.
Marathon:
HAPPY SAVER by open lengths from TIZAMAGICIAN. TACITUS and CODE OF HONOR dead heat for 3rd.

LOL, few if any of those horses are running where you have them listed. I assume that is the point.
Marathon?

Loved listening to discussions of the Arc this week on the UK/Irish podcasts where the field was frequently described as having the best MIDDLE DISTANCE horses entered!!!!!

Great horse, and great to see rising start Brad Cox figure out to use his speed as a weapon.
Colebrook used to think he had a certain limit to his 'gas tank', and rated him some.
Cox realized that he has no limit.

Never forget to take into consideration the people that fund our sport. Ownership of Medina Spirit probably needed place money to fund their lawsuit against Churchill.

I tried to beat Knicks Go, but I couldn't have been much more wrong. I was hoping Medina Spirit would be the one chasing him instead of Art Collector and both would suffer just enough to allow Essential Quality and Hot Rod Charlie to finish 1-2. I boxed them and had Tripoli 3rd in Trifectas in case it got very heated.
I'm not going to fault the connections of Medina Spirit for not going on a suicide mission like Private Mission did in the Distaff. But I think Medina Spirit has more speed and ability than Art Collector. If he was ridden a little more aggressively early he might have been able to press Knicks Go at some point. Art Collector didn't have enough to get to him even when asked. Once Medina Spirit was hung out wide in 3rd, I kind of knew my tickets were dead unless Knicks Go hated 10F. I thought Medina Spirit ran very well though. Knicks Go is just very good now. He's too fast for most Grade 1 routers to stay with and once he's loose he doesn't stop. They came home really fast.

medina dueling would have caused Medina to finish near last,
possibly would have softened Knicks go to 2nd or 3rd , maybe not... Knicks Go could have simply buried Medina and held on comfortably failing a huge rival effort
Knicks was obviously going to romp if loose, and possibly romp if a 2nd-tier rival like Medina Spirit dueled him.
All that was obvious.
The mind-blowing stuff was the Will-pays...
- a - Godolphin was on a 'high' and made an irrational bet
- b- word was out that Baffert would put his 'stamp' on the race w/ hard duel
- c- something slightly amiss w/ knicks
- d- even with the large pools, the public was stupid
guess it it was 'A'?
obviously wasn't b or c
very hard to believe 'd', either, - I doubt the public/wisdomCrowds missed that badly... it was obvious and it wasn't a brilliant insight to see Knicks was possibly loose, and definitely unlikely to get tired
made no sense, but after the stressful weekend for bettors, you were forced to either 'stick to your guns' and bet the obvious Knicks Go, or to adapt and spread a bit.
