Not many quality horses come out of Northern California and with Hollendorfer's quality stock down south, Baze doesn't get much of an opportunity to ride good horse and he very rarely travels.
He is a big fish in a little pond. In my opinion, he does a lot of things good but nothing great.
I think a larger question would be to ask why someone like Bejarano can't get TC mounts with regularity. A leading jockey at a major track should have people knocking on his door.
Both of these jocks have something in common, when they win, I lose so needless to say I have to be judicious picking my spots in So Cal and Nor Cal.
Tough to get rich playing Baze and Bejarano but tough to get rich playing against them also.
