When these were first available in British Columbia, crowds of Chinese fans (many of whom were transplanted racing fans from Hong Kong) showed up at the OTB's, the standardbred track in Surrey and at Hastings Park weekends.
Local press published the Chinese equivalent of the racing form with the most interesting charts I ever saw. They gave the fractional clockings, but instead of listing the lengths behind at the regular calls, they published a photo of the entire field at each call so that enterprising people could create their own North American charts.
For a time, Hastings even offered the race calls in Chinese. BIG success story for many a year.
