COT Gold Report - Positions as of Tuesday, August 10, 2021

last Sunday night, someone walked up to the window and put up $4 billion dollars to short gold.. this turned out to be someone or a group of someones that were naked short 32,272 contracts. they covered all those contracts and bought back enough to be long 3371 new contracts.

this move has worked every single time in gold for the past 20 years. right now it looks like the bankers have a small long position.
Hey lambo, this Australian guy has an interesting video on how he sees the gold miners. His voice is a little annoying, but his video may be worth watching.

gold is roughly $1800 per ounce, yet the miners are trading like it's only $800 the ounce. those miners, especially the juniors, have done more than a ,618 pullbacks off the prior trend. in Fibonacci, which calls for an immediate trend reversal.. the further the trend expands to the upside or downside, the bigger the next trend should be. in 2011 the miners did over a 1-2 downside trend. i have some junior mining shares that had gone up 20 fold at their highs and now have wicked reversals.

if I make money in mining stocks, I just buy more physical gold with the profits. i have been buying heavily into the mining stocks for the past 2 months and I have been getting killed with them. (not great timing on my part). i am now out of fresh powder to chase it further, so I am just holding what I have.

My old boss, the late John Bogle, often said to us and to our fund investors. "Buy right and hold tight." Bogle always advised investors to buy regularly and never sell.

Never knew Jesse Livermore said probably that first. Thanks.

Why didn't we do this in our 20's and 30's ???

Because

Our parents living thru the Depression wanted nothing to do with the stock market and never preached it to us...

Look on YouTube now....every one is an Expert and making tons of money....

While the Baby Boomers are collecting on .01 % CD's...

This always happens during extended bull runs. Everyone is a genius all of a sudden.
