Is it just me or has media coverage of that day that lives in infamy getting next to no coverage these days, compared to days gone by? If that is the case, why? Is it the over the top PC crap? The fact most of our brave soldiers that fought in that war are no longer with us?

It always blows my mind about the people thinking displaying the Enola Gay is
inappropriate and all they talk about is innocent Japanese lives taken. Really glad I got to see that plane at the museum, it was a surreal experience.
They seem to ignore what happened 80 years ago today.

That's the thing with time...people forget as it moves on...there's no getting around it...

Such horrible events that changed history are seldom discussed in schools anymore. Most kids today think life and history began with their birth. WWII was the biggest event in the nation's history, and my guess is most kids can't even tell you who the enemy was.

December 7th, 1941 is always going to register with me, and of course I wasn't born yet. Some dates are just etched in my head. April 15, Nov 22.
Those are Lincoln and JFK deaths. I have always remembered numbers for some reason.

It's in reference to probable targets in Asia or elsewhere in the South Pacific, not Hawaii.

I think no other time in history did men drop everything and want to sign up for enlistment. Something is off today, we have congress people who don't even love our country and want to change it.

Well, if all the stories of FDR knowing about the attack in advance and letting it happen unopposed are true, nothing much has changed in 80 years.

Very sad. But not surprising. I'll tell you again, the world is far more corrupt and evil then you will ever realize.

I think that theory has been thoroughly debunked.

True or not, millions of our fathers and grandfathers dropped everything and stepped up. And our mothers and grandmothers did too.

That is the America I celebrate.

The Russian people gathered in an even more patriotic force in defeating the Nazis. Millions, old and young played a part. They burned and destroyed everything in advance of Nazi occupation. Factories never slowed down. Its a misconception that Stalin forced this on Russians. These people had a passion to save their country...they hated Stalin.
The passion here today is nonexistent. A large number would actually join the enemy. The disconnect between reality and patriotism are in full view of the world, particularly in China. They'll exploit it and benefit greatly.
The same mentality that the Japanese used at Pearl Harbor, is being used by their relatives in a different kind of war.
Its actually a good thing to be an old man...ha ha!!
