Something I've been fooling around with

The rules are:No maidens or turf

All selections must be from the top three on the ML

From those top three, bet only those who last race was between 30-40 days off.If more than one of those three, pass the race.

Today at PARX:4 horses qualified.Of those 4,2 won and 2 placed.

The prices for win $11.80 and $14.20.

Four places were:7.00,3.80,4.20,6.00.

It may be that the prices are that good due to most people will not bet a horse who hasn't raced in the past month.Or maybe the reason is that those today were cheaper horses.Or it could be just a one shot thing.

There's so many horses winning off of various days away that I hardly pay any attention to that at all. I do take note of races and works in the last 40 days.

I also pay very little attention to the posted morning line.

Today, PRX had only 2 favorites to win and prices were pretty good. I had the last 7 exactas in my top 4 contenders.

Sounds similar to William Scott's Investing at the Racetrack.
You shouldn't have many losing streaks.

Scott backed off of that some in Total Victory at the Track.

My favorite version was the one in the middle, How Will Your Horse Run Today, the one with the 0,N, and + ratings.

Yes, if you know how to interpret the combinations of those ratings, they are pretty strong.

I'm actually trying to update them using Dave's P&P2022 and the Skeptical Handicapper. Been an off and on project for a couple of years now, but the PP last month inspired me to get moving again.

I only have the old version and i've really not given it as much of a look as I probably should have. Some of my more recent works suggests it is probably a sound basic concept.

What is The Skeptical Handicapper? Is that part of a product?

I am doing similar. I was surprised you mentioned that combo. We may not have much in common, but our Sartin backgrounds and handicapping are close.

Horse racing transcends politics.
