I not only don't know what they are picking off the list, I cannot even find the list. All the people who talk down to me about not trusting the government can't point me to the list either. All I know is most of the crap I buy went up way higher than the government numbers. Cliffy told me PODUNK
machine shop owners are not buying items that most people do so my experiences are out of the norm and don't count. The first part of that sentence are word for word.
PODUNK machine shop owners are human and they do eat, drive cars, and own and maintain homes. Even in the shop we use items the everyday person does. We degrease things in dish soap, we use 409, Windex and paper towels. We use all the things the common DIY guy would buy at Harbor Freight, we just buy better professional grades of the stuff and pay more, as we use our tools a lot. There are things I buy at Harbor Freight as the quality is just as good as most anybody else and I don't have to pay shipping charges.
The things I do buy most people don't still end up in finished products people like me make a part of or the whole thing.
Pretty much anything you touch a machinist had a hand in making it and or a trucker had a hand in bringing it to your door step. Other than digital media find something touched by neither of the two.
