Thanks, I was proud of that one. Obviously Princess of Sylmar is a really good horse, but 1 to 9 was over the top by a lot.

I agree, there were much better bets to be made in that race.

What did I miss?

This was Beer's play.

We are not interested in playing against Princess of Sylmar in this spot on Saturday, and would key her in the multi-race exotics while playing a straight Princess of Sylmar/Gamay Noir exacta within the race.

Mike is just one person giving his opinion. He is a very good handicapper, but it is still just one opinion.

In the TimeformUS PPs, the winner was the #1 TimeformUS Power Pick in the race. She had very competitive figures with the 1 to 9 favorite. Most importantly, the Pace Projector looked like this:

They've been doing it since Del Mar started. Not every race like that, but top 3 last out speed figures for all. The overlay is hit or miss.

I'm sure it will be implemented once it becomes a part of Equibase data.

As an old pace Figs guy, there is one thing I miss very much from CJ's original version. Highlighted/bold figures when the horse ran at the same/equal distance as todays race. I still look for these, but now I have to check every entry. Some times there would only be one horse and it stood out with the bold PF. My friends would ask me "what made you play "that" horse?" to which I would reply, "it was the only horse in the race that ran at the distance"
Still catch some from time to time, but they were much easier to spot before.
