Belmont Prediction

I don't believe either the Derby winner or the Preakness winner will win the Belmont. For this test I am predicting Overanalyze to win the Belmont. As for exacta, tri, and super I'll play Giant Finish, Orb Vyjack and Palace Malice under the . I always like to include a longshot play so I'll use Palace Malice on top on some other tickets. Good luck

Belmont Prediction

I'm throwing out the Preakness as the aberration:

1 unit trifecta box

3 unit exacta box

My initial thinking about this year's Belmont starts from Orb. I have the feeling that his Preakness failure will be overvalued from the bettors who will let me go more 3-1. This is bad news for a bettor, as the favorite of the race will probably be an overlay leaving relatively limited room for any other starter to present some value.

Unlimited Budget is one starter that might throw the bettors off, since she tries to get the boys for first time while failing in the OAKS. I think the weight allowance she is enjoying, combinied with her ability and breed is a perfect equalizer for her sex disadvantage and can very well become my key horse.

Incognito is another starter that will be underestimated by the crowd who will overlook his perfect breeding for the race and excellent workouts. I think that this Saturday he will run the race that will be proven the best of his career (including all subsequent starts he might have in the future)... Maybe a good bet....

And one question: We have three threads going so far about Belmont.. Do we really need all of them?

I'm throwing out everything with a fast work. It's a little late in the game to be blowing 11s at Belmont.

Boxing this tri for fun. Don't under estimate horses that are in the money in the KD.

Incognito- this one would upset the tris. Can run the rail.
Revolutionary- Should be ready
Golden Soul- Like at 10-1

I'm expecting Orb to finish back further in this one-- 3rd grade 1 race in 5 weeks is too much for this one. Oxbow just doesn't look ready for this one. He's been clunking along in the morning.

Good Luck!

I hear a lot of Palace Malice chatter - can't have him or Golden Soul on top.
Both eligible for an n1x condition.

Anyone have any research regarding n2l horses in the Belmont?
What about Jazil?...was he an n2l?

EDIT: yes, Jazil only won twice in his career so he had to be a one time winner when he took down the Belmont

Unlimited Budget
Revolutionary
Incognito
Giant Finish

Can't pick everyone, so I'll narrow it down to these four throw outs. If you knew my handicapping skills, then you would throw them out, too. Sorry about that.

Unlimited Budget and Revolutionary have both consistently finished 100% ITM. And that includes graded company. But can they handle the distance? Unlimited Budget and Revolutionary are the only two entries in the field that have Ribot on both sides of their breeding. It could mean nothing, but I will take this into account for myself. Incognito may have finished 5th in his last race, but did you see his gallop out? It's 1.5 furlongs from the wire to the clubhouse turn at Belmont. The extra 24 seconds or so should help. He was just too far back in the Peter Pan to really have much of an impact. Irad should have a more forward position this time around. Giant Finish is my mucky surface longshot special. If the surface turns out to be sticky like taffy or gummy, he will be the only horse in the field who would not have to adjust his stride. Besides, it was 9 years ago Prado rode in this race and he got the same number again with probably the same odds. If anyone knows the turns of this track it's Prado.

Win bets on anyone who is 6-1 or more.
All are playable in all exotics.

Plaice Malice

Track Bias angle. Churchill inside path was dead IMO. To me, Oxbow proved this in the Preakness and Orb's futile effort lends support to this angle. For the Price I'm going with Palice Malice.

As far as Revolutionary goes, I think his sire does not inspire optimism for the distance.

Of course his dam is a daughter of AP Indy who's offspring dominates this race but overall it appears to me that he is more influenced by the Cherokee Run line which makes him better for distances up to 1 1/16

He does have the LHX factor coming through twice. The only other coming through twice is Frac Daddy. Two others have it coming through once: Orb and Golden Soul.

My top 3 choices are Oxbow Palace Malice and Unlimited Budget. I

think the horse that closed on the Kderbys fast pace might still be hurting so

I'll toss them out of my top 3.

Good luck all Earl J
