Dynamic Sky - just going with conventional handicapping and trying to beat a prohibitive favorite.

The Pasco that Dynamic Sky won wasn't that great. The 4th place colt, O T B Bob, only lost by 4 lengths that day and I believe he returned to lose a state bred maiden special weight.

Dynamic Sky will get a setup here for his kick...but I'd be saddened if a slow horse like him won this race.

Help me out as I'm returning to this sport - I look at the and see a horse that might - might - be really, really good. I remember Seattle Slew's line looking like that so maybe it's nostalgia. What's the knock on Verrazano?

Its his first race at two turns but I think he rolls. The field just looks lengths slower than him.If he were in the San Felipe it would be a different story.

If you had to cite a weakness it would be that he's a Gulfstream specialist.

I think we can all name a number of Pletcher horses that have run big at GP but fail to produce that form elsewhere. GP is really a unique track, very hard, big long turns and a short stretch.

Why would you say that? Until Verrazano has raced somewhere other than Gulfstream you can not say that he will do poorly elsewhere. You can cite all the other horses you want which excelled at Gulfstream then did poorly elsewhere and it does not matter. Quality Road is Quality Road and Verrazano is Verrazano.

You may say you do not want to bet a horse until he proves he can do something. That is fine. That is a handicapping choice. It is not a weakness of the horse until he proves it is a weakness.
