Race 5 Woodbine today: late gate scratch of the even money favorite and 20 seconds after it's announced, off the other 12 go!

Also, there was no graphic posted for a late scratch either during this whole debacle prior to the race starting

Favorite did not win.
Last season, they had made a habit of releasing the field after a late gate scratch without giving the public time to make changes. They just didn't want to unload the gate. They must have received numerous complaints because they started unloading the gate and adding betting time.
Hope this scratch and release thing doesn't start happening again.
