Sounds a lot like mule racing at the California fairs.

This one is pretty close, but Race 4 at the same distance, a race that is Trakus timed, is WAY off.

I know it gets old with me complaining about bad timing, and in particular Trakus and the new GPS. Here is what Randy Moss thinks about it.

Bad timing is becoming a pandemic in horse racing. I've never seen it this bad.

Any chance of knowing what the incremental times were for Race 4 at Monmouth on July 3rd? It lists them as unavailable.

Those would be a nightmare to try to figure out. The timing starts on the turn after a run up of 260 feet and the rail is way out too.

I did time it from the gate and am very confident in 1:41.88.

I appreciate getting a final time. Thank you so much! Definitely better than nothing. Just sad that most of these tracks can't even time a damn race, or at least have some sort of back-up to do so.

No problem.

Now that I read what I wrote again, I probably wasn't clear. I timed from the gate but it is adjusted for run up and should be able to be compared with the other race on the card at the same distance. The time from the gate is MUCH slower due to the long run up, but of course that is true of the other race as well.

Belmont June 26 race 9 incorrect chart

Not a fractional error, but the June 26th race 9 chart of Belmont is wrong. The 9 horse, Mopolka, was the pacesetter from the get-go until he started to fade after 1/2. The trakus chip on him was out of whack this race, surprised to see the chart apparently pulling from this data, thought the equibase charts were made independent of Trakus? That horse is back in at Saratoga on Wednesday, so useful to note ASAP for those handicapping the finale.

Looks like the whole race is F't up, with Trackus.

This is a sad state of affairs regarding timing at Indiana Grand. I mean they rarely get through a card without some timing problems, but this day takes the cake.

Numerous timing errors this year at Saratoga, especially on the turf.

2nd at Del Mar 7/27/2020.

Final time recorded as 1:34.63, but replay of race shows they finished in 1:34.36

Looks like an input error. Just crossed the numbers.

Relying on human input is rather absurd. So 1980's.
Human inputs/actions ALWAYS demand at least 200% inspection in the real world of quality control. For at least the last 30 years.

Such a joke.

They must have had some trouble on 7/27 because the 5th came up 1:05.32 on track at the time of running, but published time is 1:06.33. In both races, the fractions are unchanged, but the final times have been changed/adjusted. These are the only 2 races I've looked at so far on the 27th, but maybe they had trouble with the timer at the finish line. I don't know, but of all the fractions I'd prefer to have correct for my handicapping needs, that final 8th is right there at the top.
