We're much further along down the road of Big Brother controlling our thoughts, actions, and lives than most realize. Since Twitter has the biggest impact from elites spouting off to the masses, the shadow banning is essentially removing an argument from one side of the same coin.
I'm more concerned about the free thinkers and independents who are having their blogs, web sites and even their Internet access restricted. There's a reason why free speech is the 1st Amendment, and right to bear arms is the 2nd Amendment, and both are under attack.

The 'social media' sites are dropping, the shine is gone. Didn't Facebook drop near 20% yesterday?
Maybe they need some older leadership so they do not show 'socialist media' bias ?

Social Media is the tool of the 4th Reich.
Hitler would have been all over Twitter and Facebook.
Both are breeding grounds for perverts and worse.
Why in the HELL would you allow so much personal information out there for any sick bastard to see and use?
Neither company has your interests or well being at heart.

No First Amendment Rights on Twitter, Facebook etc.
RE: Parkview Pirate
There are no First Amendment rights on Twitter, Facebook, Google, etc. The First Amendment only applies to government action. I do agree that they are trying to manipulate their software to reduce opposition to liberal/progressive ideas.
I think we are seeing a market/consumer reaction against these tech companies because they have become so weighted in their actions against certain viewpoints.
They are certainly not acting in an even-handed way about this. And I think they are beginning to pay the price for that.

If those "who express a certain point of view" are not happy by twitter, they should simply ignore it and use some other way of expression. After all twitter is a private company.

So are bars.
Do we allow bartenders to tell what we can and can't say?

Not so sure about that. Would Twitter, Facebook, Google, etc. , be able to legally ban someone because of the color of their skin? (because the 15th Amendment only prohibits the denial of the right to vote based on color).

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey on Alex Jones, election security and regrets
“We can’t build a service that is subjective just to the whims of what we personally believe,” Dorsey told NBC News’ Lester Holt in an exclusive interview.
