Money going to the racing would be money wasted.
Look at the purses NYRA is paying now...we already have an abundance of $7500 restricted claimers and small fields. I doubt any amount of money would make nay significant impact on the track. Where are we going to get horses from? The cheap ones will go to NY and run for bigger purses.
Put your money where it will do the best job - that sure as heck ain't racing.

No problem - we can paint the dirt green with that construction paint.

I was hoping they would raise the 4k claimers purse to $8800!

Why is everybody so shocked that a racino never spends any money on the racing side that it isn't mandated by law. Almost of the mandated money goes to purses, so don't expect many improvements in the racing physical plant at any racino ever. You will only be disappointed.

They have improved FL a lot since the slots came in. And the purses, too.
But there is only so much you can put into a place like FL without getting diminishing returns. Be happy, take your bone and gnaw on it.
We thought FL would have closed 20 years ago. You think the bottom levers at NYRA suck? Where do think they end up after 30 loses there?
FL should be running at night.

What's wrong with the truth?
FL has peaked, hats off to them. They are tons better than they eve were.
But get real - the money is going to the right group - gaming, not horsemen's welfare.
